Family Festivals 2025We are pleased to announce that Riverside and Action for Children will be hosting our Annual Family Festivals again this year as part of ‘Newcastle’s Best Summer Ever’ scheme offered in Partnership by Newcastle City Council and Streetgames.

Registration
On the day of each event, there will be a designated area for you to sign in throughout the day. We encourage everyone to sign in as this will help support funding for future events.
We will also be offering wristbands for your children again this year. These will be available on the day of each event, however, to avoid ques, they will also be available to collect from Riverside the day before each event.
Packed Lunches
This year, we have teamed up with 'Curbside Kitchen' to enable us to offer FREE packed lunches to children who are in receipt of Free School Meals. When signing in, parents will receive a token for each eligible child which will then need to be handed in to the catering truck in exchange for a packed lunch. Please note that there are limited packed lunches therefore feel free to bring your own little picnic to enjoy in the park.
Quiet Hour
This year, we are offering a ‘Quiet Hour’ between 2pm and 3pm. This is being introduced as a response to feedback that we received from families at last years events. The purpose of this is to create a more inclusive environment for children and families with additional needs. Between 2pm and 3pm, there will be no music. We will also have the Sensory Shuttle attending with a mobile sensory room.
