Family Cycle to the Beach

To celebrate Bike Week 2024, Louth Local Sports Partnership together with Drogheda Cycling Group are hosting a Family Beach Cycle. Meet at the Courtyard Coffee, Merchants Quay, Drogheda at 10.30am

A family cycle from Drogheda town to local beach approximately 10km away, plan to hold a family fun day at the beach with refreshments and then cycle back. Children of all ages are welcome so long as they are accompanied by an adult. Children are the responsibility of their parent/ guardian who must ensure they have a roadworthy bike that fits correctly and are confident they can cycle the distance. We will be on quiet roads as much as possible, but we will encounter some traffic. It is essential that all participants understand basic road safety rules and wear appropriate safety gear including helmets and hi-vis vests.

You may be able to do any activity you want — as long as you start slowly and build up gradually. Or, you may need to restrict your activities to those which are safe for you.
