Whether you realize it or not, your family system, i.e. siblings, parents, grandparents and extended family, has definite many aspects of your being. As children, we unconsciously take on patterns that are present in our system, many of them unhealthy or toxic, in hopes of making things better for our family. In some cases we experienced trauma, or we carry trauma that was never processed and is passed down generations. As adults, the patterns and/or trauma that we carry, whether our own or someone else's, affects how we show up in the world.
