"Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!" Many of us may recall this phrase from Wizard of Oz - Scarecrow as they consider all the dangers they could encounter in the forest on the way to the Emerald City. That phrase has been around since 1900 when the author penned The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.Raising kids in this digital age can often be overwhelming. Within the landscape of today's culture - the "lions, tigers, and bears" can refer to the unknown dangers awaiting us on the other side of our digital screens. Smith County Investigation, Tim McDonald, will be sharing ways to keep our kids safe with the adults at Family Collective September 8th. Meanwhile, kids from pre-k to high school will learn strategies to protect themselves in a fun, playful environment.
Our Family Collective is our monthly support group for foster, adoptive and kinship families. Each month, we gather together for pizza, salad, and then break off into sessions pending age/grade. Each session is led by local therapists who are trauma informed and want to support our families.
Location- South Spring Baptist Church 17002 Hwy 69 in Tyler.
Dinner will be served from 5:30-6:00pm. Sessions will run from 6:00 - 7pm.
