
About this Event
Sunderland Young Peoples Bike Project are offering a family challenge ride from Thompson Park along the river Wear and back using the local cycling infrastructure. The ride will be approximately 12-15 miles and will include some road cycling elements.
This ride is designed to get you back onto your bikes to experience easily achievable, on your doorstep bike rides in your local area. Getting on your bike with the family is a simple, cost free, fun activity all the family can enjoy.
All riders must be able to ride with a degree of confidence and ability to take part, most of this route will consist of pedalling on cycle paths, however, there will be small sections involving cycling on and crossing roads.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes where possible, however, we can provide bikes and helmets for the session if required.
All participants must be able to ride confidently for 15 miles without stabilisers, there is a suggested age of 10yrs + for this ride.
Each child must be accompanied by an adult, maximum of two children to one adult. A ticket for each rider must be purchased/ booked.
