This is a wonderful experience in a group with other families.It is tailored to suit children and allow them to learn a little about these incredible insects and their place in nature, but most importantly to meet them and have a new experience that captivates and engages them.
Taste some honey, plant a pollinator friendly seed and visit the bees. We give the children the space and time they need to approach the bees and for them to ask questions. Best of all you get to meet the bees alongside your children.
We are experienced beekeeping educators and are used to introducing children to bees.
Our beekeeping experiences are very calm and relaxed throughout as this is the best way to approach bees and observe them. The family experience will take place at Coppet Hill just outside of Bridport. This beautiful 600 acre farm features a stunning sunflower maze, campsite, farm animals and is rich in wildlife. We don't rush and we don't try to pack too much in, but you will be amazed at how much children (and you) can learn in a short time spent with a group of enthusiastic people.
The bee experience will start at 10am, so arrive a little before this, and will finish at approximately 12pm, there are plenty of areas to picnic, or enjoy a snack from the barn. Make a day of it as we can highly recommend the sunflower maze, such a fabulous photo opportunity :)
