About this Event
Join us to explore several of the dazzling designs on view in An Ecology of Quilts: The Natural History of American Textiles, with a focus on block printing techniques inspired from Indian printing methods and adapted by British textile manufacturers. After guided gallery discussion, families will collaborate to create their own wearable art– customized tote bags that incorporate block printing. All materials will be provided.
Families and Folk Art introduces children ages 4 to 12 and their accompanying adults to folk art through interactive gallery discussions followed by hands-on artmaking activities inspired by works in the Museum’s collection.
