About this Event

What does a great baby room look like?

What makes an amazing baby room educator?

What do babies need and how can we make sure that the baby room delivers?

If you're a baby room educator (working with 0-2 year olds) or a nursery manager, we would love to see you on Saturday 28th June at Falmouth University (Penryn Campus) in Falmouth for the 'Getting it right in the baby room' conference. It's going to be a stimulating day of talks, interactive workshops and dialogues. We'll provide delicious food to keep you going and learn from two renowned speakers on babies:

Dr Gemma Goldenberg is a psychologist and education expert with 2 decades of experience working in nurseries and primary schools. A writer and speaker, Gemma uses the latest brain science to help us understand what babies need and how our practice in the baby room responds to these needs.

Cassie Holland co-leads the birth to three network as part of the Bristol and Beyond Stronger Practice Hub & Bristol Early Years Teaching Hub and is one of the managers at Archfield House Nursery in Bristol. Cassie is a passionate early years educator with a focus on working with the very youngest children. She’s also a leading figure in the UK’s beach school movement. Cassie’s workshop will focus on the rhythm of the day in the baby room and how it can be so much more than just a daily routine.

Why are we doing this all for FREE?

We're putting on these conferences as part of the Nuffield-funded research project 'Acheiving high quality provision in the baby room of English nurseries'. You can read more about the research project at www.thebabyroom.blog.

All participants in the conference will provide anonymised data as part of the research project. This will happen through a 5 minute survey you complete before attending the conference and through a 45 minute focus group that happens over the course of the conference day. Please only sign up for the conference, if you are happy to share your perspectives and experiences of the baby room in this way.
