Get loose and gestural with this urban sketching workshop! Learn to capture seasonal downtown scenes with expressive line and juicy color. Through a series of exercises designed to build confidence and speed, we’ll explore various styles of mark-making with pen, pencil, and watercolor. We’ll cover how to:
Choose a subject without getting overwhelmed
Use dynamic lines to capture a busy scene
Paint watercolor loosely and add life to the sketch
After introductions, we’ll go out and explore the downtown. Bring a bag lunch (or grab a bite to go nearby). Dress for the weather; bring a hat, and wear comfortable walking shoes.
