About this Event
Experience the forest during the season of change: fall. The colors show and fade, leaves create a carpet on the forest floor, and animals prepare for the chilly months ahead. As we hike we will notice tree trunks, observe the differences between species, and discuss local history and how the unique geology of this preserve came to be.
What to Expect: This will be a 3-mile easy-to-moderate hike through a wooded area to a rocky overlook. The trail is a mix of smooth and rocky areas with some elevation change. This event is for ages 12 and up (participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult). There are no restrooms available on site.
Hike Leader: Mary Patterson is an Interpretive Ranger with Lancaster Conservancy. She is passionate about wildflowers, butterflies, and all the wonderful things that can be discovered outside.
What to Bring: Dress for the weather. Binoculars suggested. Hiking poles are recommended but optional. Bring water and a snack.
Refund Policy: If you are unable to attend this event after purchasing a ticket, refund requests must be made at least 48 hours before the event.
Cancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine, with cancellation a day in advance for severe weather. If the Conservancy reschedules the event, attendees will be emailed and tickets will be automatically moved to the new date. If the Conservancy cancels the event, attendees will be notified via email and refunded.
