About this Event
Fall Retreat: Qigong & Acupuncturewith Dr. Jillann Morlan Brown, DACM, LAc
Step away from the rush of daily life and give yourself the gift of a seasonal retreat. Fall invites us to gather inward, release what no longer serves, and strengthen the body for the months ahead.
In Chinese medicine, fall is linked with the Lung and Large Intestine, the organ systems that govern breath, immunity, and letting go. It is also the season most connected with grief, the tender process of acknowledging what has been lost while creating space for what can be received. When we attune to these seasonal rhythms, we support overall health by regulating energy, strengthening resilience, and fostering clarity as the days grow shorter and the season turns inward.
This retreat offers a chance to pause, reconnect, and be nourished through practices that help the body and mind move with, rather than against, the turning of the season.
During this two-hour retreat, you’ll be guided through:
Seasonal Teachings: Explore the energetics of fall through the lens of Chinese medicine and learn practical ways to align your daily rhythms with the season.
Qigong Practice: A guided movement and breath sequence to cultivate vitality, support Lung function, and strengthen immunity.
Community Acupuncture: Rest deeply during a group acupuncture session with points chosen to calm the nervous system, release tension, and support the body’s seasonal transition.
We’ll close with a cup of tea, a moment to pause and take in the flavor of fall. You’ll also receive a take-home gift with simple supports and a written Qigong sequence to carry the practice forward.

Why Qigong & Acupuncture?
These practices work with the body’s energy, or qi, in complementary ways.
Qigong is a gentle movement practice that cultivates and circulates qi, helping us connect with breath, build vitality, and ground in the present moment. Rooted in martial traditions, it is considered a form of inner alchemy, a way of refining energy from the inside out. Rather than building force externally, Qigong strengthens the internal systems, supporting resilience, clarity, and long-term vitality.
Acupuncture helps guide the body into deeper rest and alignment by stimulating points that influence circulation, digestion, immunity, and nervous system function. Time, tradition, and research all point to its capacity to restore balance, from regulating stress and sleep to supporting resilience in both body and mind. In Chinese medicine, acupuncture clears stagnation and restores the natural flow of qi, creating the conditions for renewal.
Together, Qigong and acupuncture offer both active cultivation and receptive restoration, preparing body and mind to enter the season with balance and clarity.
