We’ll see you at our Fall Recycling Event! 🍁 This event will take place at the Bay City Recycles Drop-Off Center, 2900 N. Water Street, on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bay City Electric Light and Power is teaming up with Bay City Recycles to allow City of Bay City utility customer to properly recycle select household items.
Accepted items include:
• Alkaline Batteries (9V must be taped) (ONLY alkaline batteries will be accepted)
• Cardboard
• CFL Bulbs
• Electronic Waste
• Flat Screen TV
• Fluorescent Lighting
• Latex Paint (limit 5)
• Plastic Film/Bags
• Polystyrene Foam
• Scrap Metal
• Tires (passenger car/truck tires, off the rim, limit of 10)
• Paper Shredding* (limit 4 boxes per customer)
* Items such as paper, file folders, catalogs, and magazines.
Unaccepted shred items of wood, glass, 3-ring binders, and wet documents will not be taken.
Items not accepted:
• Commercial, industrial or business waste
• Building Materials
• Cathode Ray Tube TVs
• Lighting Ballast
• Oil-Based Paint
• Smoke Detectors
• Refuse/Trash or Yard Waste
Appliance Recycling!
• Dehumidifiers
• Freezers
• Refrigerators
• Room A/C Units
Residential customers of BCELP are eligible for a $50 rebate for refrigerators or freezers between 10-30 cu. ft. and a $15 rebate for dehumidifiers and room AC's.
Customers can recycle 2 large and 2 small units per program year. Units must be operable to qualify for rebates.
