All are invited to collect seeds in the prairie from native wildflowers and grasses. This is a fun and easy activity for any age and provides valuable community service for nature! NLI uses the seeds to establish and restore prairies in our preserves throughout northern Illinois. This saves us thousands of dollars each year so we don't have to buy seeds. We'll show you how to collect the seeds and provide the necessary tools. You can bring your own gloves if you have them.
Cider, donuts and other snacks will be provided.
Groups welcome.
Dress for the weather in layers, wear sturdy closed toe shoes.
