Tour the beautiful Hilltop Gardens and shop for native wildflowers and grasses at the Fall Public Native Plant Sale.Fall is an excellent time to plant native species. Cooler temperatures and soil warmed by the summer sun provide optimal conditions for native plant roots to establish, creating healthier plants to support spring wildlife.
The sale is hosted by Loess Hills Wild Ones and is located at the home of Co-Vice Presidents Tom & Cheri Stewart, 2801 South Cecelia Street in Sioux City.
Special guests from Siouxland Prairie Farms of Rock Valley will also have native ecotype plants for sale from their farm.
Loess Hills Wild Ones will also provide Monarch Tagging opportunities on Saturday. Attendees are welcome to join and participate in this citizen science project throughout the event.
Proceeds from the sale are used for numerous native plant gardens and projects in the region, including individual and community grants to assist with native plantings.
