Motorcars are small motorized railcars used in track inspection and maintenance. Over the years, many motorcars have fallen by the wayside, replaced with pickup trucks. But, here at the Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad, the motorcars live on. While motorcar rides are available here throughout our regular season, Motorcar Day gives visitors the opportunity to see a number of the cars, in various styles and colors, in operation on the line.Motorcars are scheduled to begin setting on the rails at 6:30 am on the 8th, with the first departure of the day at 8:15 am. Numerous trips will be made throughout the day, with the last departure of the day scheduled for 7:15 pm.
For those wishing to ride a motorcar, prepaid reservations are recommended. If seats are still available on the day of the event, they may be purchased at the depot ticket window.
