Please consider joining the Worcester County Historical Society for our Fall Members Meeting and Luncheon this month on November 15th at 1 PM at the American Legion Synepuxent Post 166 in Ocean City, MD. Our guest speaker will be Aaron Levinthal, an archaeologist with over 28 years of professional experience in archaeological and historical research, interpretation, and public outreach. Aaron is a graduate of West Chester University and Salisbury University and he specializes in the history, archaeology, and architectural history of the Eastern Shore and Chesapeake Region. Currently living in Princess Anne, employed with the engineering firm AECOM as an Archaeology Team Leader, he was recently nominated to serve on the Maryland Advisory Committee on Archaeology in 2026, has sat on the Board of Directors for the Rackliffe House Trust for some 15 years, is a board member of the Beach to Bay Heritage Area, and works with various other heritage and Native People's groups on the Eastern Shore. The luncheon talk will discuss recent archaeological investigations at the Rackliffe House, an Assateague People's site and mid 18th through 20th century farm located on Assateague State Park land, have brought to light long-forgotten information about the roots of the unique cultures of the Seaboard Side of the Lower Eastern Shore.
