Experts discuss political authoritarianism in the 21st century, including its intellectual, social and cultural roots in the 20th and 19th centuries. Speakers will examine the role of the politics of memory in post Soviet Russia, illiberal democracy as forms of authoritarianism in Turkey and Mexico, and the role of religion in authoritarian states.
