Southwest Michigan's 7GRT blends a unique set of styles within and without the world of Reggae (riddim/roots/jammy/funky) to create a unique & cool vibe that pleases listeners of all backgrounds within the scene, a little of something for everyone with quite a few cherries on top!
The vibe and style shift from night to night depending on the deeper associations of the event and crowd and the meaning behind the music they bring to share.
South Bend natives Echo Drive synthesize numerous styles of music together, fusing a funk informed sense of jazz mixed with experimental and improv; summing the unpredictable and profoundly enjoyable musical depths of the personalities within the band to conjure a thoroughly engaging show with the combinations resulting.
Saint Joseph & Benton Harbor's & Chicago's own St. Joe Jack brings a similarly spanning collage of genres and styles that he focuses through his dedicated energy & colorfully powerful looping game to create the illusion that way more than one person is presenting a hybrid take on Modern Americana as it were.
Niles has produced many notable artists among its hills throughout the years and recently it spawned Erudite, who introduces a subtle element of play into a familiar set of sub-genres; mixing the electrical impulses and soaring airwaves of idm, future funk & downtempo with the organic vibrations of folk & rock, weaving these together with live vocals and instruments.
