Leaders: William Hoeck and Jake BlalockMeet at the picnic parking area at 8:00 AM, when the park opens. To find it, take the first right immediately after the Ranger Station and follow the dirt road to the end.
Please wear comfortable shoes and bring binoculars, water, sunscreen, and insect repellent. (A limited number of binoculars will be available at sign-up.)
This park is a must-visit for birders in any season. Its 1.5 miles of coastal beaches provide excellent opportunities for seawatching and spotting shorebirds. The 447 acres of maritime hammock offer prime habitat for migrant and wintering songbirds, while a small central lake hosts a rookery for wading birds.
