Ally Freedman, Masters student in the Dept. of Indigenous Studies, University of Manitoba
Ally Freedman is a proud Half-Breed woman with strong roots in Northern Manitoba / Saskatchewan around The Pas and Duck Lake. Born and raised on unceded and unsurrendered Algonquin Territory (Ottawa, ON) she also has Italian, Jewish, and French-Canadian heritage. She comes from a proud Métis family with her great-great-grandfather, Alexandre Landry, having signed Half-Breed Scrip in the late 1800's. Ally will present her research performed in the Department of Indigenous Studies at the University of Manitoba.
