WHAT:Join us at St. Philip’s Catholic Church for a young adult event! Carmen (China) Briceño will be giving a talk and leading discussion around a campfire, with time for fellowship as well. S’mores, snacks, and refreshments will be provided for enjoyment, but please feel free to bring your own snacks or beverages to share! Seating is available, and lawn chairs are also encouraged.

Note: In the event of adverse weather, the event will be moved indoors to Room 4 (same time). More info will be sent out if this is the case.
TALK DETAILS:
Our speaker, Carmen (China) Briceño, will be speaking about several Saints, with a particular focus on Blessed Chiara Badano. China will discuss the meaning of suffering through the life of Blessed Chiara, an Italian teenager that lived a life devoted to Jesus and died of bone cancer in 1990 at the young age of 19.
SPEAKER BIO:
Carmen Briceño was consecrated into the Order of Virgins in 2009. She graduated from George Mason University with a BA in Art and Visual Technology as well as with an MA in Education. She also has an MA from the Notre Dame Graduate School of Christendom College in Theology. Since 2006 she has been giving talks and retreats on a variety of topics to youth, young adults, catechists, parents, school and parish leaders in English and Spanish throughout the Diocese of Arlington, across the United States and internationally as well.
She is the founder of Sacred Print which seeks to evangelize through art and beauty and is the cohost of a weekly nationally broadcast radio program through Radio Maria called “Santos en Entrenamiento” (Saints in Training) which seeks to highlight the universal call to holiness.
