About this Event
Welcome to the Fairfield Police Department PELLETB & Physical Agility Test Registration! Get ready to showcase your skills and join our team of dedicated officers. The event will take place on Sat Mar 08, 2025, at the Art Koch Range and Training Facility.
This is your opportunity to register for the POST Entry Level Law Enforcement Test Battery (PELLETB) exam and the Fairfield Police Department Physical Agility Testing sessions (PAT).
This testing process is by invitation only and you must have already submitted an application with the Fairfield Police Department as a Police Officer Trainee!
The PELLETB examination and the PAT are two separate events and are required as the first portion of the testing process to continue in the hiring process with the Fairfield Police Department. The PELLETB portion will be held first, followed by the PAT.
The PELLETB is a multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank written examination designed to measure reading and writing ability. Tests take 2 hours and 15 minutes to administer, which includes instructions and exam time. The PELLETB contains four sections:
- Spelling (applicants select the correct spelling of a word from a list of options)
- Vocabulary (applicants select the correct meaning of a word from a list of options)
- Clarity (applicants select the sentence that is most clearly written from a pair of options)
- Reading Comprehension (applicants read a passage and answer questions about the passage’s content)
The Physical Agility Test consists of the following physical tests:
- 99-yard obstacle course
- 32-foot body drag (165 lbs.)
- 6-foot chain link fence climb
- 6-foot solid wall climb
- 500-yard sprint
Applicants who have completed either the PELLETB or PAT within the last twelve months may submit proof of completion to waive this requirement, if the following requirements are met:
For the PELLETB:
- The test must have been completed within the last twelve (12) months,
- Applicant must have received a minimum total T-Score of 45.
For the PAT:
- The test must have been completed within the last twelve (12) months,
- Applicants must have obtained a minimum score of 320,
- The test must have contained the five listed events as stated above.
Applicants must sign up for each event they will be attending. If you are attending both the PELLETB and PAT portions, please select both options. If you only need to take the PELLETB and have already passed the PAT, only select the PELLETB option. If you have already completed the PELLETB and received a score of 45 or higher and only need to complete the PAT, only select the PAT option. For either of the two portions to be waived, applicants must have submitted proof of completion prior to these events. If you have taken either of these tests since the submission of your application, you may request a waiver by submitting proof of score(s), by email, to Sergeant Ledford at [email protected].
If you have taken the PELLETB examination within thirty days of this testing date, you are not eligible to take the examination.
