About this Event
Join us in-person for our first Forest Rescues training session to learn how to identify, monitor, and remove non-native, invasive plants commonly found in the City of Fairfax.
This will be the first of two training dates offered in winter 2025. Trainings are free and open to any individual interested in learning more about the importance of nature and biodiversity in Fairfax City.
This training is in-person only at Katherine Johnson Middle School library (3801 Jermantown Rd).

Become a super-volunteer! Attendees who complete this training have the option to apply to become a Certified Forest Rescuer with additional completion of staff-supervised volunteer hours removing invasive plants in our parks and woodlands. Once certified, Forest Rescuers are permitted to work independently in city parks removing invasive plants in partnership with the city's urban forestry staff.

Fairfax City Forest Rescues is a city-wide program developed to maintain the health of Fairfax’s urban forest.
