The Alliance for Success (AFS) program is excited to host a FAFSA Completion Night, facilitated by HESAA Representatives, to support seniors and their families in completing the 2025–26 FAFSA.

Completing the FAFSA early is key to maximizing financial aid opportunities. The 2025–26 FAFSA officially opened early on November 21, 2024, and while the federal deadline is June 30, 2026, many types of aid are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

What to Expect
* Welcome & Overview – Why the FAFSA matters & key deadlines
* Step-by-Step Walkthrough – Live demo & common mistakes to avoid
* Hands-On Support – Complete your FAFSA with assistance from AFS mentors, HESAA reps, and financial aid support staff
* Resources Provided – FAFSA checklist, scholarship information, and ongoing support
Who Should Attend
- Juniors – Complete Your FSA ID
* Create your FSA ID, required to access and sign the FAFSA in senior year
* Both students and parents should create their FSA IDs
* Use this workshop time to ensure you are prepared
* Create your FSA User ID & Password here: FSA ID Registration - https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch
What to Bring (Juniors):
* Social Security number, full legal name, date of birth
* Valid email address
* Driver’s license (if available)
* Laptop or mobile device
- Seniors – Complete Your FAFSA
* Complete your FAFSA with guidance from HESAA representatives
* Submitting early maximizes financial aid opportunities
Key Points:
Federal deadline: June 30, 2026
State & school deadlines: May be earlier – check with your colleges
Priority consideration: Early submission increases chances for maximum financial aid
Mentors – Attend as Informational Support
Mentors are encouraged to attend, as this session is both informational and hands-on
You may assist students and their parents with completing FSA IDs and FAFSA applications
- What to Bring (Seniors & Families)
* FSA ID account & password (student & all parental contributors)
* Copies of 2023 Federal Tax Returns & W-2 forms (student & parents)
* Social Security Numbers (student & parents)
* Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN), if applicable
* Alien Registration Number / U.S. Permanent Resident documentation (if applicable)
* Records of checking/savings account balances (student & parents)
* Parent marital status & date of marital status
* Student driver’s license # (if applicable)
* Technology support: laptops, Wi-Fi, printer access provided– * laptops will be onsite if needed
We encourage all seniors, juniors, families, and mentors to attend to be fully prepared for FAFSA submission and maximize financial aid opportunities.
