About this Event
Featuring forty-three photographs created in China between 1993 and 2006, the exhibition explores historical memory, rapid urban and sociopolitical transformation, and new cultural identities.
This program will introduce the exhibition's key themes, artists, and opportunities for curricular integration across disciplines, beginning with a guided walk-through by Museum staff, highlighting the show’s three thematic sections, The Presence of the Past, East and West, and Performance and the Body. A discussion on content alignment with disciplines like history, East Asian studies, global studies, and studio art will follow, along with an open Q&A on teaching strategies and resources, and information on customizing academic tours.
This is a vital opportunity to explore how this landmark exhibition can serve as a real-world resource for experiential learning right here on WashU’s campus.
