Faculty Innovation Fellow Pop-Up: From Reseach to Commercialization

This 90 minute interactive workshop is designed for faculty new to the university who are high potential commercializers or for existing faculty just beginning to consider the commercial potential of their research. Experts from Innovate Carolina, along with faculty with commercial experience, will be on-hand to help participants better understand the pathways and resources available to translate their research into commercialized intellectual property.

• The resources and people at Innovate Carolina available to inform and support the development of their idea or venture,
• Defining their problem: From benchtop to customers and users,
• Customer discovery: Determining who customers and users may be and how they might inform the development of the idea or venture,
• Stoking collisions of curiosity to create teams that expand the capacity for commercialization, and
• Using the new Carolina Innovation Ecomap to connect Carolina's resources for inspired research with the needs for commercial ideas and ventures
