Friends of ACT Trees are hosting their annual Tree Week dinner and talk, open to all those interested in Canberra's trees.
The guest speaker will be Dr Laura Rayner.
Dr Rayner is a Senior Ecologist with the ACT Parks and Conservation Service. She holds a PhD in landscape ecology from the Australian National University, with over 15 years experience in the field of woodland bird and hollow research.
Dr Rayner is passionate about threatened species recovery, urban tree protection, conservation ecology, and science communication. She will give an update on some of the exciting bird research projects happening in and around Canberra: from long-term population assessments, to the nesting habits of our threatened parrots, to thinking deeply on the future of nest boxes for urban bird conservation. Laura will speak about the critical role mature native trees are playing, and will continue to play, in protecting Canberra’s iconic bird life.
Bookings: Please RSVP via email to Steve Thomas at [email protected] or call 0428 811 587
Cost: FACTT members $5, non-members $10
