WHAT IS IT?
A time for people working in applied theatre, group facilitators, theatre makers and space holders. A pause from very demanding jobs to re-connect with yourself, your creativity and your needs, to be able to share, create and give again.
A self care time where each morning you will discover elements from our trauma informed approach and be able to give your body the care, time and support it needs.
No specific programs for the afternoons as one of our first aim will be to share with you our approach to facilitation, devising and space holding in an open space environment. Indeed, as a theatre company of Sanctuary, we work with ever changing groups and contexts, so flexibility, adaptability, resilience and creativity are key to our work. With this in mind, we will build the week together depending on your needs, wishes and inputs.
Together we will find themes close to our practice to reflect on and play around with. We will explore and create in Nature, transform concepts into games, images and even small performances, why not. We can also go on a clown hunt if wanted. We love clowns at PSYCHEdelight. They are great healers and the best at empowering people!
Hopefully this week will be an opportunity for you to recharge, share your practice and questions with others, get inspired and bring new skills & colours back to your community.

YOUR STAY
You will stay in an old mill from the 14th century and its wooden chalets surrounded by a little river and a bamboo forest.
We have 2 individual rooms (check our "supporter" price) and 4 twin rooms.
We are located 35 minutes away from Bergerac airport and 5 min walk away from Monpazier, a medieval village from the 12th century classified as one of "France's most beautiful villages".

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Sophie Bertrand Besse is the Artistic Director of PSYCHEdelight theatre company of Sanctuary. She is both trained in drama and therapy and developed an expertise in physical theatre, ensemble work and clowning (Among other trainings: Gaulier, Lecoq, LISPA, John Wright, Lucy Hopkins, Complicite, Told By an Idiot, Ben Keaton.) Sophie is specialised in participatory theatre, directing and devising. She creates shows with mixed casts involving marginalised communities who wish to raise awareness about their life journeys. Sophie uses theatre as a platform to help people express themselves and be heard. She is a diversity advocate and expert at holding spaces with different ages, languages and abilities in the room. She worked with young offenders and women in prison for 7 years and is the founder of PSYCHEdelight's Together Workshops welcoming local people and refugee communities.
