About this Event
This program will be an in-person 6 week cohort that will run from January 22nd to February 26th and be conducted at FSCJ Deerwood. It will cover the key functional areas of getting started to include: Basics of Starting; Market Research and Strategies; Developing a Management Team; Accounting/Finance; Sources of Funding, Franchising & Acquisition; and Community Resources. Subject matter professionals will be invited as guests to the sessions to provide in-depth information on the respective topics. All participants will be provided a mentor from either SCORE or the SBDC and will be encouraged to continue meeting with the mentor upon completion of the Cohort. Each week participants will learn about the services of a community resource and will be given a handout that provides information about the various resources. Participants will complete and present a Pitch Deck.
To help translate the skills learned in the military to entrepreneurship, Veterans Florida and statewide partner organizations have joined forces to offer the Veterans FloridaEntrepreneurship Program. Program expenses for all participants will be covered through funding provided by the Florida Legislature and Veterans Florida.
