About this Event
From February 14 through March 2, 2025 our friends at the Albany Civic Theater are presenting Martin McDonagh's play, The Pillowman. Join Albany Civic Theater's Artistic Director Ellen Cribbs and Actor Marty O'Connor at the Irish American Heritage Museum's Flanagan Theater for a discussion about the play, the preparation for the performances, and the creative experience overall.
Ellen Cribbs is an actor, voiceover artist, director, and published playwright. She teaches Acting 1 at UAlbany and is the Artistic Director at Albany Civic Theater. She earned her BFA in Acting from Ithaca College and completed a graduate acting course at the Bristol Old Vic Theater School in England. Since moving to the Capital Region in 2017, Ellen has performed with many theaters, including Playhouse Stage Company and Capital Repertory Theatre. Ellen also co-hosts the weekly podcast "Everything Theater" with Benita Zahn.
Marty O’Connor is making his Albany Civic Theater debut in "The Pillowman." Marty has appeared in several plays at Schenectady Civic Players and SLOC. His greatest pleasure was appearing in "Our Town" with his daughter, Eileen, and in "The Nerd" with his son, Rory. When not performing, Marty enjoys playing softball, soccer, hiking, and boating on Lake Champlain with his wife, Patrice.
