Faceless presents Dub Techno Salon feat. THOR [Thule, ICELAND]

Faceless is please to kick off a new series of dub techno focused events at the Process space in Watershed. For our first guest we invite Thor for a 3 hour set.

For more than three decades, THOR has been one of the leading figures in the Icelandic techno scene – often dubbed as the Godfather of Icelandic Techno. The founder of the legendary Thule Records & Æ Recordings in 1995 and is well recognized for his finely crafted deep minimal techno music. Beside releasing on his own output, his working is being released on the Berlin based label Sushitech Records, as well as The Double R, Rekids, Connaisseur Recordings and many more. His alter egos are many and is most successful collaboration is the Sanasol project with his friend Yagya. Thor has been a DJ since 1985 and played in many clubs around the world such as Berghain/Panorama Bar Berlin and with the notorious Giegling Crew. Thor is currently located in Hannover, Germany.

Throughout the years, Thor has had steady amount of releases and remixes coming out and his music has been heavily featured on various labels and compilations worldwide. His latest EP release „Aliens Don´t Boogie Remixes” came out on his label Thule Records recently and he is currently working on a Debut Album in his new German studio . The project is a collaborating with artists such as Andrey Pushkarev, XDB, Roger Gerressen, Luke Hess, Anton Kubikov, Matt & Mark Thibideau, OHM, Octal Industries and other great artists.

THOR has had numerous successful collaborations with artists such as Goldie, Pascal F.E.O.S., Tim Taylor, Exos, Roger Gerressen, Matt Thibideau, Yagya and the pop superstar Björk. In addition, Thor has remixed artists such as Bob Marley, Anthony Rother, Sigur Rós, Anton Kubikov, Steve O’Sullivan, Ben Sims, Exos, Eddie Matos (Mateo & Matos), Gus Gus and many more.
