About this Event
Face Yourself - A Make-Up Workshop
This is not your regular drag workshop. There's no eyebrow blocking, lash installation, or femme and masc contour. Instead, we're going to sit down and paint ourselves with colors, and focus on finding lines and shapes that enhance emotions, storytelling, and let us see ourselves.
While makeup is marketed towards hiding imperfections and creating a vision of flawless beauty, I think of it as a way of self-exploration.
There's a story in every line, wrinkle, and curve of our faces, our bodies; they carry memories, emotions, and weight. By choosing how to approach each line, each shape, we create a mask.
A mask that doesn't hide away the insynchronicities, it enhances them, highlights who you truly can be underneath. It's a process of becoming, choosing how you want to be seen.
Bring your brushes, color pallets, foundations, and of course, a mirror!
