About this Event
When surrounded by the vivid sight, calming sounds, and sagebrush scents of nature, how do you feel? Calm, joyous, wowed? It’s a feeling that’s both difficult to replicate and put into words. But this feeling is important, as it is our connection to nature.
In the Face to Face with Nature Workshop, we try to hone in on this feeling and morph it into something tangible. The workshop offers a guided session where participants will decorate a personal mask, create sweet-smelling sachets, and write poetry, all inspired by the nature and beauty of the Newport Bay Estuary.
All materials will be provided, and these materials will include some select items carefully collected by Naturalists from our very own wetland, like sagebrush and leaves. Along with instructions on how to create the crafts, there will also be an educational portion that will help contextualize and further deepen the participants' connection to the natural world.
This workshop is for adults and is available also to Spanish speaking participants.
