About this Event
Birmingham Community Matters (BCM) is a small charity supporting people with setting up and running community groups and projects in Birmingham. Our peer-to-peer network brings people together with the idea that 'Everyone has something to learn and everyone has something to teach'.
We're holding a face-to-face session at Soho Community Hall and we'd love to meet you if you run a community group or small charity in Birmingham, or are thinking of starting one.
Our experienced Community Matters Helpers will be there to work through any questions you have about (for example):
- Starting a project
- Structuring your group
- Recruiting volunteers
- Finding funding
- Telling more people about what you do
- Anything else you need to know.
They will have useful ideas or contacts to share with you - and we're sure they will learn something from you too!
Our face-to-face sessions are always informal and friendly - and a great opportunity to meet other people involved in community activity in Birmingham.
Please sign up using Eventbrite so we know you're coming. Covid restrictions have eased, but we still want to help everyone feel safe and comfortable - and that means limiting numbers for now.
As you sign up, we will ask you a few questions about your ideas and challenges so we'll know how best to support you on the day. Don't worry if you don't have all the answers yet - for example if you don't have a formal structure for your community group. We can talk you through the options when you come and visit.
