On this fabulous 2 hour workshop you will use a variety of hand-building techniques to make a characterful Face Jug! Taught by potter Dave Short, finalist on The Great Pottery Throw Down 2024.On arrival at the Castle, you’ll be warmly welcomed as you join the rest of your small group. Dave will begin with a demonstration of how to make a face jug. He will show you how to form the clay shapes and structures required to make your piece. Then it’s your turn to get hands-on and have fun making and shaping your very own version. Dave will be on hand throughout offering practical tips and guidance.
After the session, your finished piece will be left for a week to thoroughly dry out. It will be bisque fired and then dipped in a transparent glaze and fired again. This glaze will give the ware a glossy finish, making the jug watertight! Your jug will be packaged and posted to you after 6 weeks.

ABILITY: Suitable for beginners and those who have experience making things with clay.
