Un pomeriggio - al paperbar di dotfog studio - con l'illustratore e designer Steven Guarnaccia per creare un libro autoprodotto senza utilizzare parole né immagini. Lavoreremo su un libro “vuoto”, da realizzare con tecniche e materiali diversi, esplorando le infinite possibilità dell’immaginazione.

E alla fine presenteremo tutti insieme un bel niente!

Steven Guarnaccia è illustratore, designer e Professore Emerito di illustrazione alla Parsons School of Design. Ha diretto il programma di illustrazione dal 2004 al 2011 ed è stato direttore artistico della pagina Op-Ed del New York Times dal 2001 al 2004. Nel corso dei suoi quattro decenni di carriera come illustratore riconosciuto a livello internazionale, ha lavorato per importanti riviste e quotidiani, tra cui il New York Times, Abitare, Rolling Stone e Domus, è stato collaboratore del MoMA, creato murales per Disney Cruise Lines, disegnato orologi per Swatch.
Il suo lavoro è stato premiato dall'AIGA, dall'Art Directors Club e dalla Fiera del Libro di Bologna ed è stato esposto in mostre personali negli Stati Uniti e in Europa.
Vive e lavora (quasi sempre) a New York

dotfog è uno studio napoletano di design, fondato da Rosanna Cianniello, Marialuisa Firpo e Gabriella Grizzuti. Si occupa di identità visiva, exhibition design, packaging, editoria e sviluppa progetti per la valorizzazione dei territori culturali ponendo il design come attivatore di pensiero critico.
Abita uno spazio unico – nel cuore di Napoli – con un suggestivo terrazzo e il “Paper Bar” un laboratorio per fanatici e appassionati della carta e di tutto ciò che la riguarda. Accoglie anche eventi e workshop, aprendosi alla città.
Le fondatrici affiancano la professione con attività di docenza e ricerca presso l'Accademia di Belle Arti Brera di Milano, l’Università Federico II di Napoli e l'Università degli Studi della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli.

An afternoon at the dotfog studio paperbar with illustrator and designer Steven Guarnaccia to create a small book without using words or pictures.
We will create a blank book, to be made with different techniques and materials, exploring the endless possibilities of imagination.
And at the end we will all present together "un bel niente"!

Steven Guarnaccia is an illustrator, designer and Professor Emeritus of illustration at Parsons School of Design. He directed the illustration program from 2004 to 2011 and was art director of The New York Times Op-Ed page from 2001 to 2004. During his four-decade career as an internationally recognized illustrator, he has worked for major magazines and newspapers, including the New York Times, Abitare, Rolling Stone and Domus, been a contributor to MoMA, created murals for Disney Cruise Lines, designed watches for Swatch.
His work has been honored by AIGA, the Art Directors Club and the Bologna Book Fair and has been shown in solo exhibitions in the United States and Europe.
He lives and works (most of the time) in New York City.

dotfog is a Neapolitan design studio, founded by Rosanna Cianniello, Marialuisa Firpo e Gabriella Grizzuti. It focuses on visual identity, exhibition design, packaging, publishing and it develops projects for the enhancement of cultural territories, considering design as an activator for critical thinking.

The studio is located in a unique space – in the heart of Naples – with a striking terrace and the “Paper Bar”, a lab for fanatics and enthusiasts of paper. dotfog also hosts events and workshops, opening up to the city.

The founders flank their profession with teaching and research activities at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, Federico II University of Naples and Luigi Vanvitelli University of Campania.
