For those who crave discovery beyond the usual places, Slovenia and Croatia are an absolute treat. These countries are emerging as hidden gems in the wine and travel world, offering unique varietals, centuries-old winemaking traditions, and picture-perfect scenery to savour along the way!
Let’s start with Slovenia, a small country with a big heart for wine. With over 2,400 years of winemaking history, Slovenia is home to some of Europe’s most innovative and sustainable wineries. Divided into three main wine regions—Primorska, Posavje, and Podravje—each area offers its own flavour and style. Our tour will take you through Primorska, Slovenia’s most celebrated wine region, just a stone’s throw from Italy’s Friuli wine region. Think bold reds, mineral-rich whites, and the world-renowned orange wines (a type of skin-contact white wine) that you’ve probably heard whispers about. These wines bring such distinct character and complexity, perfectly blending tradition with a splash of experimentation.
Throughout the tour, you'll have the chance to meet passionate female winemakers, many of whom run small, family-owned vineyards and are known for their warm hospitality. Expect to sip on unique varietals like Rebula and Teran, and to experience cellar tastings that feel like you’re being welcomed into a friend’s home. Slovenia’s wine scene is all about authenticity, sustainability, and a genuine love for their craft—qualities that make every glass feel just a bit more special!
Then, we’ll move on to Croatia, where stunning coastal views and ancient vineyards combine to create an idyllic setting for wine lovers. Croatia has over 130 indigenous grape varieties, with standouts like Plavac Mali, Malvazija, and Pošip. Our tour will introduce you to some of Croatia’s finest wineries, especially along the Dalmatian Coast. Imagine sipping on a beautifully balanced red while looking out over the Adriatic Sea—that’s the kind of experience Croatia delivers! The winemakers here are a mix of tradition-keepers and bold innovators, crafting wines that reflect the rugged, Mediterranean landscape. And, of course, we’ll be pairing these wines with local delights—from fresh seafood to artisanal cheeses and olive oils.
