FAA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)

The course duration is 7 hours which includes lunchtime and breaks. Maximum of 12 students and they must be a minimum of 14 years of age with a certificate offered to all, subject to successful assessment. A student cannot assume responsibility in the workplace until they reach the age of 16. Due to the practical nature of the first aid assessment learners must be able to get to the floor unaided and successfully demonstrate all required elements of the practical assessment on their own.

The range of subjects covered include:

Responsibilities and reporting,

Assessment of the situation

Dealing with an unresponsive casualty

Basic hygiene in First Aid

Resuscitation and AED awareness

Minor injuries

Bleeding control

Burns

choking

Epilepsy

Shock.

The practical session is ongoing by the tutor and a three year qualification will be issued to those who satisfy the criteria.

Course timings:

9.30am to 4.30pm this allows for the 6 hours contact time and breaks.
