The F.A. Gilfillan Memorial Lecture is one of Oregon State University’s most prominent public lectures. Join us for the 2024 F.A. Gilfillan Memorial Award Lecture, featuring Dr. Wei Kong, a trailblazing scientist unafraid of unconventional paths. This is an in-person and online event.
Kong's lecture, titled “Which way up: Using field orientation to see the unseen,” will trace her journey towards developing a revolutionary method for high-resolution atomic imaging of biological macromolecules and nanomaterials. Her work has forged a path with the potential to redefine drug development and deepen our understanding of disease mechanisms.
Learn how Kong is developing experimental technologies and exploring the frontiers of physical chemistry.
For those attending on-site, a short reception from 5:30 to 6 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres will precede the lecture. Virtual attendees will receive a link to attend via email.
