Each release delved deeper into her dualistic relationship with nightlife, incorporating a wider range of influences, from Detroit techno to Italo disco.
Her upcoming sixth album, City of Clowns (2025), marks a return to the club. The techno-thump and scathing spoken-word delivery resurface at times, but the pop structures and melodic sensibilities also remain. "It's linking back to what I was doing pre-pandemic, but with a bit of an evolution," she comments on the sonic blend. "I didn't want to just repeat myself."
Firmly rooted in underground culture, the sound and spirit of the album planned for release at the end of February are shaped by Davidson's new antagonist: Big Tech. This time, it's not club culture that threatens her sense of self, but the digital giants.
