Eye Village Lantern Parade 2024 On Sunday 17th November at 4pm. Eye village is going to be the backdrop for a spectacular Lantern Parade.
In 2022, around a 1,000 residents from Eye, helped to produce a spectacular night where hundreds of people walked with their handmade lanterns. It was a real village project and it's back!
This year’s parade is about celebrating Eye's overlooked and unique working-class industrial and farming heritage – industries born out of the land on which it is built. We want to bring to life the sense of pride in a place that provided the nation with bricks and food.
Light Whale International and local groups will be transforming Eye with musical performances and outside spectacles that are all inspired by the recent working class histories and memories of Eye. These are based on stories and memories that have been gathered over the last year through interviews, exhibitions and memory cafe’s.
Be part of this night of light, magic and community and join us as we move through the village in a sea of lanterns.. You can help us to celebrate Eye’s working history and help us to spread light at the darkest time of the year.
