The Eye Can Exhibitions are a New Service for Blind and Partially Sighted people across Bristol, Bath, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. Sight Support West of England & Wiltshire Sight are dedicated to improving the lives of blind and partially sighted individuals. We provide a wide range of services that assist people in overcoming challenges they confront on a daily basis. We have resources to assist anyone with sight loss, whether it's a visit to the Resource Centre for technology training, a talk at one of the community hubs to check out the latest daily living aids, or attending one of our social events to meet new people. You can find out more about our services on our website www.sightsupportwest.org.uk In addition to our current support we have now created The Eye Can Exhibitions. Set to take place yearly and across the West of England, we hope they will prove to be a vital resource for our community. Eye Can events will bring together providers of; technology, advice and guidance, health & wellbeing, education, and our local hero’s - all under one roof. Eye Can Bristol 2022 - Speakers TimetableThe following information details our guest speakers for the day. All talks will take place in the room on the left-hand side of the main entrance. For more information, please ask one of our team. Each talk should last around 30 minutes and there will be time to ask questions at the end. 10.30am - Fraud Awareness with Avon & Somerset Police Ashley Jones MBE: Ashley is a Fraud Awareness specialist from Avon Police. This talk will give you the information you need to stay safe from frauds and scams.11.30am - Ask the Expert Amar Shah: Amar is a leading Optometrist working in the West of England and will be taking your questions and helping to correct any myths around sight loss and explaining the support and treatment that is out there. 12.30pm - How Tech Helps! Ed Teal – Optelec – Headline Sponsors: How tech has developed and how tech can help to support different sight loss conditions and aid a more independent life.1.30pm Meet the ECLO, Daria Hernet & Mary McGrory: Find out about what the Eye Clinic Liaison Service is and how the service can help you. 2.30pm - An introduction to the Bristol Sight Loss Council from Alun Davis: Bristol Sight Loss Council is designed to be a voice for blind and partially sighted people in Bristol. This talk will inform you what it is, what they do, what they have achieved and how people can get involved.3.30pm - Meet Sight Support. Mike Silvey (CEO), Glenda Prall (Head of Services) & Jen Hall (Fundraising Manager). A chance to hear about the past, present, and future of Sight Support West from our management team.
