Eycott Hill [nr Berrier, Penrith] - National Park Guided Walk

Start Point: Eycott Hill Nature Reserve Car Park, nr Berrier, Penrith, CA11 0XD

Length: 3.6km (2.2miles) with 150m (492ft) of ascent

Time: 2.5 hours (approx)

A half day walk across a part of the Cumbria Wildlife Trust Reserve.

From the car park we follow a circuitous, undulating route to the top of Eycott Hill via the viewpoint.

Eycott Hill Nature Reserve is home to wide variety of wetland plants, bird life and impressive geology. It's a Site of Special Scientific Interest for both it's plant life and the nationally important Eycott Volcanic Group of rock formations which was named after this location.

Throughout the walk, the views are extensive, taking in the Pennines, Helvellyn, Green Gable and Blencathra. A short walk, but one full of interest to anyone who is interested in plant life, birds or geology.

Paths are generally good but can be wet and muddy.

Participants will need to dress appropriately for the terrain and weather.
