Loss of form, function and esthetics are all reasons to consider a true biomimetic restorative approach to the treatment of wear/bio-corrosion lesions. Bonded restorations, due to their conservative nature, should be chosen whenever possible. Based on the individual situations and the perceived needs and concerns of the patient, direct and semi-(in)direct application of composite resins and/or bonded porcelain restorations can be proposed. This comprehensive hands-on course will also provide a structured treatment planning strategy in view of two parameters: (1) Generalized or localized wear/bio-corrosion and (2) severe or moderate amount of tooth structure loss. Essential occlusal principles will be presented such as the opening and passive deprogramming of the bite, as well as the Dahl principle, which can significantly simplify the treatment and allow noninvasive additive procedures.
Those principles will be implemented using the modern tools of digital design and 3D-printing to obtain accurate diagnostic mock-ups for a full esthetic/functional test drive and to guide the preparations for the final restorations.
Who should attend? New and experienced dentists and extended function dental assistants.
This is course is also a perfect complement for those participants who completed the Magne CONTINUUM.
