Extra Life is a 25-hour event where we play games of any kind to raise money for our local Children's Miracle Network hospitals. For most, that would be Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, but if you're closer to Akron it may be Akron Children's Hospital.At a high level, you can think of the event as similar to a Relay for Life event, but with gaming instead of walking or running, and you get to do it all from the comfort of North Coast Games (or your home, if you'd prefer).
For the 2024 event, we're looking to expand beyond our normal board games and video games, and add in some wargaming and card games. We won't ask people to stick around for the full 25 hours unless they really want to, so we will plan out several larger events in roughly 3-4 hour time slots and have people sign up for what they want to do. Anyone can also plan their own events at any time of the day, we just want people to be around and playing games as much as possible.
For now, we're looking at having a raffle to raise money for our Extra Life team, as well as running a Dice Throne tournament, a Dungeons and Dinos Play-to-Win event, and a one-shot Kids on Bikes: House of Poplar Court adventure.
