For 44 years, Expressions of King’s Legacy programming at RIT has been dedicated to celebrating the life and impact of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A New York Times bestselling author and professor at Princeton will deliver the keynote address at Expressions of King’s Legacy. Dr. Eddie Glaude, Jr. will speak Thursday, January 29th in Gordon Field House. The program begins at noon and runs until 2:00 p.m.
Glaude is the James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor and the former Chair of the Department of African American Studies at Princeton University. He is a contributor on MS NOW (formerly MSNBC),a columnist for TIME Magazine and the author of several books including Begin Again: James Baldwin’s America and Its Urgent Lessons for our Own as well as We Are The Leaders We Have Been Looking For. We’re excited to share that RIT student Naveedah Adegoke, president of the Black Awareness Coordinating Committee (BACC), will serve as emcee and there will be a performance by artist, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Johnson, of “The Ryan Johnson Project.”
Ryan Johnson and Glen Cummings will bring elements of Funk, Soul, and R&B in a special performance.
