Expo Revival: Searching for Trent Alley celebrates and honors the history and legacy of Asian/Asian Americans in the PNW and Spokane. This exhibit is presented in partnership with Asians for Collective Liberation in Spokane, Eastern Washington University, and Spokane Public Library as part of Expo '74 50th Celebration.
The main exhibit "Searching for Trent Alley: Asian American Footprints in Downtown Spokane" traces the areas of downtown that served as home to vibrant Asian communities beginning in the late-1800s until Expo '74's beautification efforts which gutted the last surviving remnants of Spokane's Asian community in Trent Alley.
Continuing the legacy is a companion exhibit titled We Are Made Of Stories, a collection of contemporary artworks submitted by local youths and residents who are telling ours, our communities’, and our world’s stories. Through art, we reflect on how we view the stories of the past as they invite us into the stories of today.
