Manta Watch NZ is coming to Waiheke Island! Join us for an evening of manta madness, marine education and community conservation. MWNZ Founder, Lydia Green will be presenting the project's short film: Manta Watch - Discovering Aotearoa's Gentle Giants, talking all things manta and sharing the latest project updates.
Plus, find out how you can get involved through our brand-new Manta App to record sightings. (A must-have for boaties!).
The amazing Waiheke Resources Trust are hosting this special event and will also be launching another year of their fantastic Marine Education Initiative, which runs in all of Waiheke’s schools – so bring the whānau and find out what your tamariki will be learning in 2025.
The opportunities to participate and learn about our amazing coastline and moana are open to the whole community as Waiheke Marine Project will be showcasing their projects which range from the annual Kōura surveys and regeneration diving through to the restoration of coastal habitats above and below the waterline.
There will be kai and plenty of time for questions and chats. We’re looking forward to seeing you there.
