🌿 Discover aquatic insect diversity with Professor Barbara Downes, Professorial Fellow (Honorary) at The University of Melbourne in the School of Geography, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences. Professor Downes is an expert in freshwater ecology, with a focus on aquatic invertebrates and their role in freshwater rivers and streams.
🌊 Explore the role of algae in wetland health with Michelle Tieu, as she shares insights from water samples taken at the reserve.
🔍 Learn from resident ecologist Gio Fitzpatrick about the ins and outs of wetland restoration and Yalukit Willam Nature Reserve’s future plans.

Accessibility & Transport
The talk will be held outdoors. The area is wheelchair accessible, but please note that the paths are gravel. Additionally there will be limited seating available.
Parking: Limited parking is available on-site near the YWNA shed, accessed via the driveway next to the Elwood Bowls Club. Additional parking is available on New St.
Public transport: The reserve is accessible via the 246 Bus, 67 Tram and is only a short 5 minute walk from the Elsternwick Train Station (5-minute walk)
