About this Event

While most consulates are located inside unimpressive modern offices, the Czech Consulate in New York City can't say the same — after all, its housed inside a historic building that's stood in the Upper East Side for over a century. From recreated rooms to a hidden art gallery, it's time to explore one of New York's coolest consulates.

Join New York Adventure Club for an exclusive tour through the Czech Republic Consulate's Bohemian National Hall, a social hall built in 1896 for the Czech and Slovak communities in New York City's Upper East Side — a purpose it still serves to this very day.

Led by the Czech Republic Consulate Deputy Consul General, our unique experience will include:

  • A discussion around the roles and responsibilities of a consulate and how it differs from an embassy
  • A walkthrough of the recreated Grand Ballroom from the days as a social hall
  • A visit to the consulate's modern rooms, including the cinema, library, unique spiral staircase, and rooftop terrace
  • A walkthrough of the consulate's hidden art gallery

The tour will conclude in the Bohemian National Hall’s Czech pub, Bohemian Spirits, where you can stay and purchase food and drinks!

See you there!
